Docking Station

Functional description

All docking stations, whether the SAFE, COMPACT or eCOMPACT, consist of a set of patented systems that fulfil a number of roles:

  1. Dock bikes
  2. Release bikes
  3. Protect against vandalism
  4. Display battery charge (Pedelecs & eBikes)
  5. Manage battery charging

The docking stations are available in the following types:

Docking Station „SAFE“

This docking station can hold conventional City Bikes in addition to Pedelecs and e-Bikes, but is usually used with Pedelecs as it protects the sensitive parts of the bikes (e.g. battery, control electronics) from vandalism due to its solid construction. The "SAFE" docking station locks the bike by enclosing its rear section. The docking stations, which are also connected to each other, offer substantial stability thanks to their own sheer weight.

Docking Station „COMPACT“

With the "COMPACT" docking station, the bike is locked to the front part of the frame at its crossbar. This means that the bike barely takes up more than one square metre! The system is constructed to a modular design, allowing multiple docking points to be easily connected to each other, in groups of three or six. This method enables numerous parking spaces to be created.

As an option, the "COMPACT" system can also be installed without the need for excavation works, which involves securing a base frame to the ground and covering it with base plates. This type of installation is extremely suitable for temporary usage, at major events for example.

Docking Station „eCOMPACT“

The design of the "eCOMPACT" variant is similar to that of the "COMPACT" system. It's the interior that is substantially different, however. The bike is locked to the front part of the frame at its crossbar. This means that the bike barely takes up more than one square metre! The system is of a modular construction: Multiple docking points can be easily connected to each other.

This method enables different layouts to be created, for example in a square formation or in a row.

As an option, the "COMPACT" system can also be installed at any location required without the need for excavation works

Mobile Docking Station

The mobile docking stations consist of a baseplate, a terminal and a COMPACT, eCOMPACT or SAFE docking station (the latter two require a power supply at the location). The base plate provides robust stability for the hire station. With a UTMS connection, the stations can be set up almost anywhere.
